Dave to play intimate UK show
18th of February 2006 at 10:50am

Dave Matthews will be playing in the UK at King's College Student Union on the 28th February. The out-of-nowhere show was announced in a Warehouse email to UK members yesterday.

Straight off the back of the Independent magazine article Dave will play at the 550-person venue with tickets currently open for request at the Warehouse ticketing section, until 8pm Monday evening. It's the usual Warehouse lottery so you're not guaranteed tickets until they let you know at midnight on Monday. You'll only be able to order tickets through the Warehouse if you have your account registered with a UK address.

Tickets will go onsale to the public at 10.00am on Tuesday 21st, and are available at ticketmaster.com and at aloud.com, and should be onsale through the King's College box office (details at the relevant websites).

Both the Warehouse and the online ticketing sites remark that the show is "with Special Guests" (i.e. a support act) which is anybody's guess at the moment; however with Jason Mraz on tour in the UK he could be a possibility.

Update: Jason's playing Bournemouth on February 28th. Sorry folks!

Update 2: Thanks to WeeklyDaveSpeak, here are the details on the proposed venue (Tutu's), as well as a gallery of the venue from Sufjan Stevens' gig there last Halloween.

Update 3: The support act for tuesday night will be Foy Vance.
